Overview
This project replaces a VR headset's traditional lighthouse (base-station) tracking with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) using onboard cameras to track position instead of external sensors mounted around the room.
It combines a custom SteamVR driver with the necessary hardware, shown here running on a Bigscreen Beyond. The aim is inside-out tracking freedom without the setup and space requirements of external base stations.
